My Portfolio

As you explore my portfolio, you will find a collection of projects that showcase my professional experience and highlight my skills as a student. This work demonstrates my ability to translate complex scientific information into actionable strategies, apply data analysis to solve real-world problems, and develop strong communication and leadership skills.

Binational Early Asthma & Microbiome Study

As a Lab Department Intern, I conducted outreach to schools and universities across Region 9 to promote awareness of our research on early childhood asthma. Using a compiled directory of environmental health and science programs. I identified relevant institutions and faculty contacts, then initiated communication to introduce our findings and explore opportunities for collaboration. The goal of this outreach was to connect with educators and program leaders who could help us disseminate evidence-based information about asthma prevention and early intervention, ultimately supporting healthier environments for children.

Final Emergency Response Plan

For my upper-division public health course, I created an Emergency Response Plan addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa

Final Emergency Response Plan. The plan outlined four objectives: culturally sensitive education, healthcare worker training, expanded access to antiretroviral therapy via mobile clinics, and community-led support networks. I developed an activities matrix, budget, evaluation metrics, and a communication strategy for both local and international stakeholders.

This project strengthened my skills in policy analysis, emergency response planning, and culturally responsive intervention design, while teaching me how to translate health data into actionable strategies.

Community Assessment

For my Principles of Health Education and Promotion course, I co-authored a Community Assessment and Program Plan focused on heart disease prevention in Pima County Final CAPP. The project analyzed local demographics, socioeconomics, cultural factors, and health disparities to identify at-risk populations, particularly older adults and individuals with conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. This project strengthened my skills in community health assessment, program planning, and evaluation design, while reinforcing the importance of culturally competent and accessible interventions for addressing chronic disease prevention.
